Loren Avedon is an actor who has earned a loyal following of action fans for his work in martial art films such as No Retreat No Surrender 2, No Retreat No Surrender 3: Blood Brothers and King of the Kickboxers. Born and raised in California, this talented martial artist has impressed movie watchers all over the world with his super fast high kicks, flexibility and impressive stunts. Loren has acted alongside some well-known martial artists including Matthias Hues, Billy Blanks, Cynthia Rothrock, Keith Cooke, Olivier Gruner and Sammo Hung. A high ranking Black Belt who has been training in the martial arts for 40 years with years of experience in Tae Kwon Do and Hapkido, Loren even trained at the school of Simon Rhee and Philip Rhee who both starred in the film Best of the Best. Loren recently featured in actor Scott Adkin's excellent show on YouTube, The Art Of Action, and kindly agreed to do this interview for The Peace Dimension. In it, he discusses what it takes to develop the flexibility of a master kicker, his memorable fights scenes and other anecdotes from working in the film industry.

Mary Jane Begin is a wonderful illustrator and a professor at The Rhode Island School of Design, where she has taught for over 28 years. Originally from Rhode Island , Mary Jane has been able to use her artistic talents in various areas from advertising to education. Her clients include Disney, Hasbro, Celestial Seasonings and Mead Johnson. With an innate, vibrant ability to use colour, she brings a magical touch to her illustrations. She has a gentle ability to share profound insights useful to her students and others. Ryan Stride interviews actor, body builder and martial artist Matthias Hues
Originally from Germany, he has starred in over 70 movies, playing both heroes and villains with a natural ease. When Matthias Hues moved to LA, and joined the famous mecca of bodybuilding, Gold's Gym it is no surprise that his imposing physique, Track and Field background and martial art skills led him to a career in front of the camera. In 1987, Matthias was cast to be Jean Claude Van Damme's replacement in No Retreat No Surrender 2. Since that memorable performance as the main villain, he's played everything from a Klingon general in Star Trek VI The Undiscovered Country, to an intergalactic alien criminal, opposite Dolph Lundgren in Dark Angel and a fighter in KickBoxer 2: The Road Back. Using his black belt in Tae Kwon Do and Kickboxing skills, he has performed in action packed fight scenes opposite the likes of martial art stars like Billy Blanks, Bolo Yeung and Don Wilson. In addition, he has written several movie scripts and continues to train and keep strong.

Our next interview is with Olivier Schneider, a man who has appeared in over a hundred films, but you may not recognise his face, as he's been the stunt double for many Hollywood A-listers. After revitalising the tired action film genre with his direct, action packed fight scenes in Taken, he was chosen as the stunt coordinator for the James Bond film, Spectre. A man who in front of camera has exchanged blows with many well-known stars. He has worked with Jackie Chan, Denzel Washington, Liam Neeson, Dwayne Johnson, Dave Bautista and Daniel Craig. As well as this, he has also co-directed the 10-episode series Playground and worked on motion capture for video games such as Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron. He has also set up U-Men Stunt, a team of elite stunt doubles, specialising in all aspects of production, from writing and choreography to the editing of scenes.

He is a former Harlem Globetrotter, an author, a motivational speaker and a contestant in The Amazing Race. He is Herbert 'Flight Time' Lang. He received various sporting honours in high school; he then excelled at Centenary College, where he continued to display his high-flying mastery of the court. He participated and won the College Slam Dunk Contest, earning him an invite to the Globetrotter's training camp in 1999.
